Renova XR is a medication that possesses analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory properties, and its mechanism of action involves inhibiting the COX-1, COX-2, and COX-3 enzymes involved in the synthesis of prostaglandins in the CNS. This medication is a para aminophenol derivative that is considered safe and effective, with no adverse effects related to aspirin. Renova XR is a fast-acting pain reliever that is widely used and well-tolerated.
Adult Dose:
Adults should take 1-2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours, up to a maximum of 4 gm (8 tablets) per day.
Child Dose:
Children (6-12 years): 12 to 1 tablet three to four times per day. It is best not to go above 2.6 gm/day for long-term treatment.
Patients who have consumed barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, or alcohol may experience a reduced capacity to metabolize high doses of Napa. The concomitant use of alcohol can enhance the potential liver damage caused by overdosing on Renova XR. The chronic intake of anticonvulsants or oral steroid contraceptives can induce liver enzymes, leading to increased clearance or first-pass metabolism and thereby impeding the attainment of therapeutic levels of Renova XR.
Renova XR should not be used in patients with a known hypersensitivity to it.
In case you forget to take your Renova XR dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, you can skip the missed one and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Avoid taking a double dose to compensate for the missed one.
